ERASMUS Plus project "Poster Art - Take part"

IISS “Majorana” hosted the second mobility of the project Erasmus Plus “Poster art – Take part”, from October 17th to 21st (click HERE to watch a clip of the project). On this occasion approximately sixty among teachers and students from Austria, Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Spain were greeted. Following a welcome ceremony opened by the school head teacher Dr. Paola Petruzzelli and Mrs. Ladisa, the foreign delegations spent days full with activities in and out of the school. There were labs led by the teachers Mr. De Cosmo, Mrs. Poletto e Mrs. Vitarella, and day trips to Alberobello and Polignano, followed by a poster hunt among the streets of Bari city centre and a walk in the old town center. Moreover the guests visited the Apulian multi-media library with its huge collection of film posters. The visit to an actual movie set located in the countryside around Monopoli resulted to be particularly suggestive. The delegations could meet the director Mr. Cosimo Terlizzi shooting the movie “Dei” (“Gods”) produced by Riccardo Scamarcio. The project also included a moment of theoretical analysis with a conference at the Athenaeum with the participation of the Head teacher and a Dean delegate, regarding the role of posters in History, among advertisement, cinema and political propaganda, with interesting reports of our teachers regarding the outstanding figures of Fellini and his dreamlike drawings, and Mimmo Rotella with collages and the artistic reuse of posters. The project has been important for the activities proposed and the cultural and human exchange among students of so many European countries, hosted by our guys, who could once again develop their linguistic and relational skills. See you at the next European meeting!
